Design For Six Sigma Training

 

Design for Six Sigma Training (DFSS) is a systematic methodology using tools, training, and measurements to enable the design of products, services, and processes that meet customer expectations at Six Sigma quality levels. Design for Six Sigma Training optimizes the design process to achieve six sigma performances and integrates characteristics of Six Sigma methodology in product development. Design for Six Sigma Training is about learning how to make a new product or service that is defect free. A number of the tools and methods used for the Six Sigma DMAIC process are applicable to developing new to the world product and services.

 

The first objective of a Design for Six Sigma Training session is to provide comprehensive training to the engineers who will be functioning in Subject-Matter Expert, Lead Engineer, Design Engineer, Black Belt, Green Belt, or leadership roles. Design For Six Sigma Training is a five-days training targeting experienced Black Belts to enable them design defect-free/perfect new processes, for new products and/or services therefore new processes.

 

Design For Six Sigma Training provides a systematic integration of tools, methods, processes, and team members throughout product and process design. Initiatives vary dramatically from company to company, but typically start with a charter (linked to the organization’s strategic plan), an assessment of customer needs, a functional analysis, an identification of critical-to-quality characteristics (CTQs), and concept selection, a detailed design of products and processes, and control plans.

 

Design for Six Sigma Training has gained widespread notoriety because of the tremendous value it brings to organizations that successful deploys the program.  The Design for Six Sigma Training curriculum consists of training for all organizational roles required to support successful deployment of DFSS. Technical design personnel are trained in Six Sigma risk abatement techniques and managers and executives are trained in how to implement, maintain and manage a Design for Six Sigma Training -based design activity. Design for Six Sigma Training prepares teams for the use of statistical tools to design it right the first time. The Team members undergo Define-Measure-Analyze-Improve-Control (DMAIC) or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) training depending on their roles in the project.
