Six Sigma
Humor
We all know
that Six Sigma is not about humor, but if you are serious about
humor (may be Six Sigma Humor) you will get it, no matter how tight
are the circumstances. Personally, we have seen many presenters and
speakers at many quality workshops and seminars, who start or end
with a good humor.
Is your Six
Sigma or Lean initiative a success when processes are improved,
costs are cut, but customers notice no difference? This provocative,
humorous, interactive workshop shows how to inject
customer-centeredness into your Six Sigma, Lean, and innovation
initiatives while integrating it all with your organization’s
strategic objectives. This session is so jam-packed with immediately
applicable content it can’t be done in less than a day. Get the
principles and tools directly from the horse’s mouth: the author,
top-rated presenter, Robin Lawton who coined the phrase,
“customer-centered culture” with his 1993 best-seller, “Creating a
Customer-Centered Culture: Quality, Innovation &
Speed”.
When attending
his seminars, you will be challenged and motivated to see Six Sigma
Humor from the customer inward (rather than process outward). You
will experience a new and refreshing way to think about who your
customers really are, how to find out what they want, and how to
prepare your organization to design for
innovation.
Robin Lawton
uses humor and an interactive style to show you how to immediately
apply the principles and tools to your real work. You will see how
an eight-sided methodology can uncover 75% of the opportunities Six
Sigma normally misses but customers would kill to get. If this isn’t
the path to eternal bliss, it is certainly the closest you are
likely to see as a mere mortal.
Some of the
stunning, tangible results experienced by current practitioners will
be shared. Using these concepts and tools, one organization won the
Baldrige-based state quality award within only three years, earning
better than a 10:1 return on their invested effort in just the first
year.
We have heard
that workers at GE used to say "Six-Sigma Week-end" instead of “good
Week-end" hahahahahaha. Also you can create some jokes by
manipulating "Six" with "Sex". Also some "ignorant "persons think it
is a trade-mark or it is a new fast food type. But we think the best
joke is inside the fact statement that NASA is running with less
than 3.5 SIGMA?? Do you agree with me??
While not a
true "Six Sigma Humor”, I use this one with GB classes and it gets a
good reaction (well, sometimes...):
3 statisticians
go deer hunting. They creep out through the brush and find a good
place to hunker down. Soon, a big buck walks up - and the first
statistician hops up and shoots! Misses 10 feet to the right. The
second statistician hops up and shoots, missing 10 feet to the left!
The third statistician jumps up and yells, "We got
him!"
